Introducing “ELBISH

A straightforward guide to understanding Amanda’s priorities for the future of the 95th District.

Education

Amanda seeks to bring more funding back into our district’s schools and bring out schools’ ratings up! With lost funding in recent years, coupled with ongoing program cuts and consolidations across NYS, we need ongoing conversations around increasing funds, and equally as important, how money is being allocated. As a mother and parent, this is of the utmost concern, hence the top of Amanda’s list.

Local Business

As a local business owner herself, supporting local business is a priority. Amanda believes local businesses are what makes our communities unique. Supporting Chambers of Commerce with grants, more bazaars, farmer’s markets subsidies, and even people in designated roles to help aid in supporting the tapestry of local businesses with media, press, and ongoing updates of the happenings in shops and restaurants, etc. to keep our communities informed and engaged.

Infrastructure

The conditions of our roads remain unsatisfactory. Amanda is deeply passionate about fighting for funds to stay ahead of this going forward. From advocating for improvements with the MTA and their scheduling to balance commuting and tourism, to increasing speed bumps and zones to keep our children and aging community members especially safe, to longer term, yet attainable goals, of advocating for a commuter ferry system to NYC.

Sustainability

As a social entrepreneur, Amanda seeks to apply her experience as a regarded “climate warrior” to our district, with everything from offering youth education on climate preservation, encouraging the subsidy of solar and electric vehicles, and transportation alternatives, to sustainable housing development — all while taking care of our immense natural world — starting right here at home, in the beautiful Hudson Valley.

Healthcare

Healthcare is a human right that is more important today than ever before. Many Americans are one medical catastrophe away from bankruptcy. Amanda has the endurance to fight the ongoing battle of securing affordable access for all.
